Located in the scenic Rocky Mountain town of Jasper, Alberta, the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives is dedicated to collecting, preserving and making available photographs and documents which illustrate the human history of Jasper National Park and the Yellowhead Corridor. The archives holdings include historic books, periodicals, manuscripts and personal and business documents. The photographic holdings include thousands of items in the form of negatives, prints, albums, and transparencies.

Moreover, the Archives holdings include a library of historic books, periodicals, and pamphlets pertaining to the human and natural history of the region. Additionally, there is more than 20 metres of manuscripts, personal and business papers, diaries, and memoirs. Furthermore, the photographic holdings includes over 8600 items in the form of negatives, prints, albums, and transparencies.

Additionally, We receive inquiries by conventional mail, telephone and email. Furthermore, if you have a specific question about a particular subject, individual or archival holding, we will endeavour to respond to your inquiry in a timely manner. Moreover, if you are planning a visit please contact us in advance to make an appointment. Lastly, if you are sending your inquiry by email, please include your mailing address and phone number so we can respond appropriately.

Take a look at our Jasper archives gallery collection. In the early 1960s the Jasper-Yellowhead Historical Society began collecting photographs on various subjects relating to Jasper Alberta’s history. The Jasper Museum Archives Gallery consists of photographs pertaining to the history of Jasper and includes views of Jasper residents as well as the activities they were involved in day to day; employment, schools, churches, hospital, sports, clubs and organizations. The Jasper Museum Archives Gallery also includes views of famous visitors to Jasper, firefighting, and photographs relating to the railway.

The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives strives to share Jasper’s history with the world. This features section will allow us to showcase stories and photographs from the archives. We hope you will enjoy a small sampling of our extensive collection.
